December 2004 Minneapolis Star-Tribune Gadget Gift Guide

Tired of paint splattering your wristwatch, scratching its crystal or snagging your watch on your project? Minneapolis-based GuardDog has a good alternative. Its $50, flip-down belt watch attaches to a pocket or belt and can be read right-side up while attached. As much as I tried, I couldn't get it to pop off. The watch is protected by a stainless steel and Santoprene case. There's also a $60 wristwatch model.
